Mihan was founded by Reza Pahlavi (heir to the throne of Iran). It was incorporated on March 2, 1998, as a non-profit, non-political, educational and research organization.

Our primary mission is threefold:

1. To restore Iran’s fine and noble image, to inform the international community about her contributions to world civilization, and to discuss current issues affecting Iran’s culture and its national heritage.

2. To promote within Iran the virtues of a civil society based on the protection of fundamental individual rights, the advancement of social and political self-determination, the rule of law, security and stability.

3. To build bridges of communication and fellowship amongst Iranians, both at home and abroad, through promoting general cultural awareness and adherence to modernity.
